A beautiful Martin Grand J-28LSE Baritone guitar in excellent condition.  As one of the largest of the Martin guitars, it features a 27.5" scale length, a 17' wide lower bout, 21 total frets and 15 frets to the body.  Back and sides are East Indian rosewood combined with a scallop-braced Sitka top, mahogany diamond volute neck, square tapered headstock and African black ebony fingerboard and bridge.  The Martin factory installs the D-TAR Wave-Length Multi-Source combination pickup and microphone system in the Martin Grand to accurately amplify the deep and rich tones of this baritone instrument.  If you have never played a top quality baritone guitar before, you will be amazed at the sound of this guitar!

Martin has selected the D-TAR Wave-Length Multi-Source combination pickup and microphone system to include in their top-of-the-line acoustic-electric models. These finely crafted instruments truly show off the features and outstanding tonal qualities that D-TAR delivers, as well as the best characteristics that Martin guitars offer.

The D-TAR Multi-Source combines the Wave-Length piezoelectric under-saddle pickup with a miniature condenser microphone that is nestled in a special absorptive visco-elastic polymer shock mount for optimal isolation. With separate signal sources coming from two different tonal points inside the guitar, and two low-profile knobs for master volume and microphone volume to control the blend of the piezoelectric pickup and microphone, the player has more flexibility to bring out the most natural sound possible from an acoustic guitar when amplifying it. Additionally, output can be wired in mono or stereo to further expand on the tonal possibilities when using two signals. The Wave-Length piezoelectric pickup is powered by an 18-volt preamp that operates via two AA batteries. Compared to a more common 9-volt system, 18 volts allows far more headroom, resulting in increased clarity and less distortion when the strings are hit hard.
