This 2016 Raya has a uniquely beautiful tonal spectrum.

The weight is a perfect 7lb-8oz.  The instrument comes with its original G&G Hardshell Case in very good condition.  The guitar is from a nonsmoking environment.  The nut is 1.70" in Width and the board has a 12" Radius. Comfortable C profile neck that isn't too skinny or fat.

From Destroy All Guitars: The Raya is Versoul's most popular electric guitar and is based on two decades of design and research work. Reimagine the solid body electric. Rethink the sonic and ergonomic possibilities. The goal: to create an instrument that's an ultra-efficient musical tool. Utility is foremost, but delivery of a rich tonal palette is equally important. Also on the list of essentials: a design as distinctive and bold as the instrument's sound. That's a tall order, but Versoul's Raya 6 delivers the complete package.

At the heart of it is a body of Finnish Alder, a terrific tone wood for rich resonance and soaring sustain. Raya's neck is laminated aspen and maple with a fingerboard of East Indian rosewood. Versoul pickups (single coil/humbucker) transform messages in solid wood into bold auditory exclamations. (The pickup covers are really cool looking, too.) Leave it to Kari Nieminen, who both studied and taught design in Helsinki, to determine that tuners accessed from below rather than over the headstock are an ergonomic plus for players. His designer's eye also gives the Raya a sly and sleek look all its very own, simultaneously futuristic and retro, a suggestion of Googie architecture delivering a playful touch.

From NAMM 2019: Founded in 1994 in Finland, Versoul specializes in the design and construction of high end string instruments for professional musicians. Since the beginning of the company, the product range has broadened from two acoustic models in 1995 to over 50 production models by 2018.

During the years Versoul instruments have been played, recorded and toured in the hands of artists like Ronnie Wood, Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, Billy F Gibbons, Paul Carrack and Kenny Burrell to name a few.

The powerful distillation of four decades of studying, building and natural artistry, honed to the finest cutting edge. Iconic Rock Stars, Jazz Players, Classical Musicians, Producers and Collectors all agree; Versoul Guitars, Basses and Amplifiers and Fuzz pedals are among the finest instruments ever created.

Versoul guitars are rarely exhibited in American Music Shows, so it will be a great moment for guitar aficionados to have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with several unique guitars, like Raya 6 Blue Lite Guitar in genuine Gold Leaf Top or Raya 6 Blue Light with Arctic Ocean Salmon skin fish matched top, fingerboard and headstock.

Kari Nieminen has been building guitars for over 45 years. His experience, together with his formal art education background; Master of Arts Degree in Industrial Design, has lead to a unique attitude towards making instruments. Through meticulous study of classic builds, Kari has obtained an excellent base of knowledge of sound and construction.
While many guitars of today excel in technological design, Nieminen is convinced that a certain amount of tradition will yield better results in sound. His mission is to complement the centuries of tradition in guitar building with uniquely modern designs. One of Kari's models, a steel string flat top guitar ZOEL, was featured in one of Finland's special stamp editions showcasing six products of new Finnish design in October 1999.

Although the modern guitar has been constantly redeveloped, there is always room for improvement. The design of each Versoul models begins with music and the musician in mind; the goal is to refine the sound and improve the instrument for the benefit of both.

Each Versoul guitar showcased in NAMM Boutique Guitar Showcase is a unique work of art.

Versoul designs are first and foremost professional tools in terms of ergonomics, functionality and playability. Equal emphasis is placed on the sound and visual design of each model. This results in instruments that are practical, esthetically pleasing and most importantly, which produce an exceptional sound.
